This year's Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), held on Saturday, May 10 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), saw Terminator hitmaker King Promise win the ultimate Artiste of the Year award.
King Paluta, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, Kweku Smoke, and Team Eternity all faced up against King Promise, but King Promise prevailed.
Four prizes were given to him: Album/EP of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Best AfroPop Song, and Best Afropop/Afribeats Song.
King Paluta's Aseda song won the year's most popular song award.
Kweku Smoke, KiDi, Team Eternity Ghana, Empress Gifty, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, Esther Godwyll, and Tulenkey were the other winners of the evening.
A Lifetime Achievement Award was given to gospel musician Yaw Sarpong in recognition of his services to the gospel music business.
Yaw Darling, the Unsung Artiste of the Year winner, performed after Ayisi's performance, which kicked off the evening.
