Parliament Approves NIB Meeting with Two MPs Under Strict Conditions
Parliament has granted permission for the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to meet with two Members of Parliament (MPs) as part of an ongoing investigation.
A statement signed by the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, confirmed that Speaker Alban Bagbin has authorized Mustapha Yussif, MP for Yagaba Kubori, and Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), MP for Gomoa Central, to engage with NIB officials.
However, the meeting will be conducted under strict conditions. Referring to Articles 117 and 118 of the 1992 Constitution and established protocols between Parliament and security agencies, the Speaker has mandated that the meeting must take place within Parliament.
The session is scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room at the Office of the Speaker.
The statement also advises both MPs to attend the meeting with their legal counsel present. Additionally, Parliament has directed NIB officials to liaise with the Legal Services Office upon arrival.

Furthermore, the statement advises both MPs to be accompanied by their legal representatives. NIB officials have also been instructed to coordinate with Parliament’s Legal Services Office upon their arrival.
