An effort to teach Ahanta in schools is started by the Ahanta West MP.

Mavis Kuukua Bissue-Boateng, the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, has established a committee tasked with incorporating the Ahanta language into the curriculum, marking a major advancement in the preservation of the language.

The program intends to reach all five of Ahantaland's constituencies, with a special emphasis on Sekondi-Takoradi, in addition to Ahanta West.

In order to ensure that the Ahanta language and culture are passed down to future generations, this ambitious effort aims to revive them.

The Ahanta Language Project, the Ghana Education Service, the Upper Dixcove, Lower Dixcove, and Ahanta traditional councils, the local council of churches, and Radio Ahanta are all represented on the newly established committee.

Their task is to coordinate earlier initiatives and create a thorough plan for Ahanta language instruction in classrooms.

The MP reiterated her dedication to the cause in a message posted on her official Facebook page on April 18, 2025, saying: "We have begun the path to introduce the Ahanta language to the classroom. The group will go to work right away, and I will keep you all informed about our progress and any assistance we may need, my beloved brothers and sisters.

The idea received praise from one user, who wrote: "A very positive move by a very humble and respectful MP." Ahantas must first cease acting like Fantis since they are not. They must establish Sekondi-Takoradi as an Ahanta-speaking region and promote their language and culture.

Another said: "Well done. Everyone has to quit politicising everything in Ahantaland and compliment our MP on his excellent efforts. Congratulations!

By revitalising the Ahanta language and culture, this enormous effort hopes to ensure that it is passed on to future generations.

The newly established committee is made up of delegates from the Ghana Education Service, the Ahanta Language Project, the local council of churches, Radio Ahanta, and the traditional councils of Upper Dixcove, Lower Dixcove, and Ahanta.

Coordination of prior initiatives and the creation of an all-encompassing plan for Ahanta language instruction in schools is their mission.

One commenter commended the initiative, writing: "A very respectful and humble MP made a very positive move." First and foremost, Ahantas need to quit posing as Fantis, since they are not. Sekondi-Takoradi must become an Ahanta-speaking region, and they must promote their language and culture.

"Nice job," said another. All must congratulate our MP for the good work and stop politicisation of everything in Ahantaland. Many congratulations!
