American rapper Ja Rule has revealed that he once collaborated with a Ghanaian musician over 15 years ago but cannot remember the artist's name.
Speaking in an interview with JoyNews on April 1, 2025, while discussing the upcoming commissioning of a six-unit classroom block at the Nuaso Anglican Basic School in Ghana’s Eastern Region, Ja Rule reflected on his musical experience in the country.
“I recorded a track years ago with a Ghanaian artist, but I’ve forgotten his name. It was about 10 or 15 years back during a visit here. We hit the studio, and the vibe was amazing. Afrobeat is huge now,” he noted.
Following his revelation, Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue identified the mystery artist as Tinny. Supporting this, a video clip showing Ja Rule and Tinny in a Ghanaian recording studio surfaced online.
There are also speculations that the track might have been planned for Ja Rule’s album, though it was never released for unknown reasons. In addition, producer Morris Babyface posted a snippet on Facebook of a track featuring Ja Rule, titled “Hey Love,” possibly tied to that session.
